Warwickshire Police

Introduction to the project:
I was asked by my former college tutor, to help current sixth-form students with a film project opportunity. This entailed me to film and edit a video for the Warwickshire police, which would be shown in local schools across the west midlands. The brief I received detailed that the film should show the consequences of “sexting” amongst uninformed youth.

I initially met at the college with the tutor and the students, who had composed a script for the film, to discuss the filming process. I was given a copy of the script and briefed with the project details, like how many weeks the project would be running for and what my role would be. I am responsible for filming and editing the final piece.

I analysed the script and created a rough storyboard, whilst having regular contact with the tutor and police officer. The nature of the script required us to have young actors around the age of 16. Due to the sensitive content we were sure to provide their parents with full disclosures and permission forms. In terms of locations, a local school had offered us their premises to use, so that would cover a basis of the production setting.

I am yet to hear from the tutor and officer to discuss further the filming process, as the project is still ongoing.
